App Character Guidelines

- Application Character must always been sent in for scc.
- Application Characters are given starting gear appropriate to their factions. They are not to switch to another faction and keep both, they lose their previous faction gear.


How to gain one:

- Be an active player on the server.
- Present a concept to a DM you know would be interested.
- Discuss circumstances, put up the application.
- Admin team will respond and accept or decline with reasoning.
- Follow the rules. Any past strikes you may have will be taken into account.
- Blatant abuse of the special character in an out of character manner could enforce a redaction of rights for playing said character.

If anyone believes a Hardcore Character is being misplayed or abused, give to the Shinma Team evidence: Screenshots, gather people with complaints on the character to send a message with their own point of view to any of the Shinma Team. We ask that you compile your information before hand, gathering it and putting it all together so you are ready with substantial/reasonable evidence. The situation will be looked over and the accused player questioned. Punishment will be given accordingly.

Introduction

In the mystical lands of Shinma, dragons were once considered extinct, believed to have perished in the Great War against the invading Napishtim. However, this was far from the truth. As the dragons faced the brink of extinction, the goddess Melfina offered them a choice: to continue their existence in their natural draconic forms and risk being hunted, or to adopt the form of humans and blend in with them. This transformation, while allowing them to walk among humans, would not completely hide their dragon heritage, as their tails would always remain visible.

Many dragons accepted Melfina’s offer, gaining the ability to transform into humans in their prime years, between eighteen to twenty. These transformed dragons, known as Scalekin, discovered that their human forms were hereditary, passed down from parents to children, yet each generation retained the draconic power of their ancestors. As they adapted to their new forms, they established a secluded village, governed by a caste system with the most prestigious at the top and the disgraced or lower-ranking at the bottom.

Tribes of Kin

---

Among the various draconic beings in Shinma, the Scalekin stand out. These dragons, having mastered the ability to take human form, sought to protect themselves and walk among mortals. The wars had significantly reduced their numbers, leading many to learn the art of transformation. These transformed dragons then formed three distinct tribes, each with its own culture and leader.

Each tribe has its own hidden village, camouflaged from those who might exploit the Scalekin. It’s common for young Scalekin to venture into the world, seeking experience, strength, and allies. They often embark on journeys that last decades, but they can return home whenever necessary. Occasionally, threats to a specific tribe necessitate sending messages to those who have left, urging them to return home.

The Scalekin tribes, while diverse, share a common trait of mistrust, rarely revealing their secrets to other races. This caution stems from their survival instincts, as they tend to avoid races or individuals who harbor fear or animosity towards dragons.

Upon creation, players must choose the tribe they belong to.

Dragovian:

What mankind most often thinks of when they think of dragons, the Dragovian tribe are the source of four legged dragons. These were the beasts of great destruction, those that were veritable war machines against the encroaching napishtim. Their incredible strength allows them the ability to smash through whatever obstacles lie within their path. When they transform, they become bipedal and two great wings sprout from their back. Their scales can be a wide range of colors but are most often dull in coloration and resemble natural colors rather than metals. These scalekin are much rarer to see out and about, even if you wouldn’t know it.

Leader: The Dragovia tribe is led by the Stalwart High-Priest Drazcial.

Shinryu:

This tribe of scalekin are the most magically inclined of the tribes and are almost always from the island nation of Kuokazo. It is within this land that they are celebrated and beloved as creatures of both luck and paragons of magical ability. Still, they need to be careful on the mainland of Shinma as the mage hunters would not take kindly to their utilization of such a gift. This tribe is a bit more commonly seen within the island of Kuokazo and its members often travel well beyond the island and onto Shinma proper.

Leader:The Empress dragon watches over the Shinryu clan and the Emperos Drakkra.

Drek’veln:

Unlike the two main tribes of scalekin, the Drek’veln are a bit less draconic, being largely descended of drakes, the wingless dragons. While their overall intelligence is a bit more limited, the still possess enough magical ability to be able to take human form. Though they aren’t as smart as those of the Shinryu or even Dragovian tribes, the Drek’veln make up for this with physical prowess, enough to even go up against the Dragovians. These are the rarest to meet away from their village as their kind rarely leave, and even when they do, they aren’t much for the company of those that they do not know. Their main tribe lays on the north tip of Shinma just beyond the village of Burg and the mountains. The Drek’veln enjoy the breezy beaches and their homes made along a cove, some living in interconnecting houses or inside caves, where they can easily hunt for fish or in the mountains. They get along well with the beastmen clan since the two trade between each other.

Leader: Sonnet, though her real name has been lost or held secret, is quite charming than most of her tribe. She rose up the ranks when the tribe was nearly wiped out when their first leader was killed in the Great War and the tribe was scattered. When not lounging in the palace or working with the water tribe Beastmen, she is seen roaming the cove helping with small tasks donned with purple flowers in her flowing long white hair.

Power & Growth

Due to the intense concentration of power that they represent, each scalekin tends to develop a strength from within their soul when they are children. Thus they achieve, as children, what most humans tend to take years to find a further representation that the scalekin are impressive creatures. As they get a bit older, they slowly develop their draconic might further, allowing them to take on the form of the dragon, their true form and original form of their ancestors. The newest form of power, while it takes a bit getting used to, the draconic form of scalekin most often feels like their true self and their human form more of a suit. When their soul evolves for the last time on its own, it tends to evolve as a combination of their soul and draconic powers.

T1 [On creation]– All creatures with potential have some kind of power that can be born from within their soul and, as descendants of dragons, Scalekin are no different. What IS different about Scalekin, however, is that due to their ancestry they will always awaken to a power. This “first power”, or potential as it is often known, is something that is representative of the soul of the scalekin and, therefore, is unique to them. This can be as simple as command of fire to as intricate as illusions that fool the senses.

T2 [Hybridization] – Unlike many beings that exist in the world, the second evolution of a Scalekin’s potential is the awakening of their draconic power and is a hybridization of their human and draconic forms. This is a form most often taken when the scalekin in question wants to use some of their true strength but doesn’t want to become a full dragon, or when they are younger. The hybrid form of the scalekin tends to show off some of the more draconic parts of their heritage: horns, wings, tails even a change in the iris or a hardening of the skin.

T3 [Draconic Form] – The typical stopping point of a Scalekin’s abilities, this is where the power of a Scalekin has reached a point where they can become a true dragon. While the size of the scalekin’s draconic form tends to only be about the size of an adult elephant, their power is no less diminished. Skin turns to incredibly hard scales, fingers to claws as sharp as swords and teeth like spears. Their newfound wings allow them to fly great distances at an intense speed. When they achieve such a form, the power of dragons is fully manifest allowing an even greater power to be awakened from within, as their dragon form erupts.

[T4] [Behemoth Dragon] - The Scalekin has gone through trial and error and pushed themselves to go even further beyond. They nearly become on par with True Dragons themselves. Though the process is not easy and the Scalekin must have gone through a spiritual dominance of their soul or trained exceedingly over the years to evolve. Even so, not all Scalekin can transform further when undergoing the trial and many have failed and died.

The Behemoth is in a league of it's own and varies greatly, in nature and strength usually either adding onto the powers of their Tier 3 form or changing it up completely, you should not expect to get this as a player overall regardless of age due to extreme rarity, they're intended to be unique and be rather vast in power increase.


Starting abilities.

The Scalekins have a very refined-sense of racial-abilities, usually mimicking that of dragons of myth.

Dragovians. (Hybrid)
Scalekin have many special prowess that other creatures do not. We turn, first, to the dragovians. The very nature of the dragovian, and indeed of the scalekin as a whole, is that of secrecy and subterfuge. To this end, it is incredibly difficult to tell that a scalekin is anything but the race that they are displaying to the outside world. Another weapon that they have, no matter the age, is the breath weapon. Even as a wyrmling, the power of dragons boils in their veins. The Breath Weapon is a combination of two separate elements that the Dragovian is attuned to. Dragovians are a nearly effective a combination of warrior and spellcaster, giving them increased resilience, agility and they drip with charisma. They even have the capacity to recover a bit of health over time.

Shinryu (Magic Tribe)
The Shinryu tribe of Scalekin are a group that favor the magics, having evolved societally on the island of Ryukyu and, while they don’t necessarily need to, they possess the ability to hide their true physical forms. Much like the Dragovians, the Shinryu possess the capacity to unleash a powerful, dual element breath attack that can cause incredible amounts of damage to adversaries as well as their surroundings. Due to their improved magical capacity, the average member of the Shinryu Tribe has increased intelligence, wisdom and are also a bit more charming. Also they have a additional magic power compared to other creatures, including other scalekin.

Drek'Veln (Warrior Tribe)
As with other Scalekin, the Drek’Veln possess a more than mystical capacity to hide their true nature in order to preserve the sanctity of their own villages. Additionally the incredible might of the Breath Weapon still passes down even through the Drake descendants. They are capable of unleashing a Breath Weapon composed of two separate elements to rend their adversaries asunder. Unlike the Dragovian and Shinryu tribes, however, the Drek’Veln are much stronger, more resilient and have a bit more common sense than most. It is this that makes the Drek’Veln the true warriors of the Scalekin.

[Description]: The Scalekin naturally has the abilities to like their Dragon-Ancestors, channel a breath of elemental energy to escape from their mouth, element and power of the individuals dragon-breath usually, greatly varies depending upon power, size and type. Some dragons forfeit their dragon-breath for other things such as poisonous bite, but the general majority has one, the dragon-breath itself unlike most magical abilities doesn't rely upon magical energies, it relies upon the users stamina and how long they can keep on breathing out, before loosing their breath. The Scalekin uses their mana to unleashes this attack and can potentially increase it to frightening levels of power if enough mana is put into the attack.

Change. No word holds greater meaning in the life of a Drakkra. The constant ridicule that one gets that they receive from other races causes any member of these half-breeds to have to relocate on a near daily basis, constantly looking for a new home. A frightful presence to everyone but their predecessors, this race of honorable beings find themselves in a constant state of change as their unending migration throughout the land takes them only so far away from the battles and hunts that the other races of this world lead on them. Not a day goes by when a Half-Dragon isn't slain out of fear or disgust. Unable to fully become Dragons and too warped to be accepted by the human world, these half-breeds must hide in the shadows, away from the gaze of their persecutors. It is a dangerous life, indeed, but it is not all sad. Drakkra find join in the art of magic and rich culture. Despite their scaly exterior, there are artists and musicians among their ranks. Bards that travel the lands, sharing their wonderful stories that carry the deep history and lore of their race. Their strong bodies serve too aid them in their labors as both builders and fighters. Knowledge of architecture and farming have been shared down through their recessive races, allowing them to build small settlements high in mountains away from other civilization in order to offer sanctuaries to others of their kind that must flee from their homes. Most of all, however, is their passion and skill with magic. Gained from their Dragon ancestors, Half-Dragons have become masters at the art of weaving magic to their will. The mastery they display is surpassed only by the Dragons, themselves. All of these qualities make for a strong race, rightfully feared, but scarred with such regret as they will never be able to find a true home in a world full of hatred towards their race.

Drakkra come only in two bloodlines in Shinma due to their rarity: Kaiser and Emperos clans

History of the Kaiser:

It is not fully known when the Kaiser Drakkra came to be, nor why they were created in the first place. Some scholars, that still hold to the ancient ways, believe that the Drakkra of the Kaiser clan were created when an ancient dragon got bored. Still others claim that a group of adventurers found an ancient and forbidden spell deep within a dragon’s hoard that allowed them to change themselves to be more draconic. Even some of the Kaiser Drakkra, themselves, believe that their kind are natural creations and have always existed since time immemorial.

Unfortunately, none of these theories even come close to the truth of the matter. Randolph started off his life as a slave to a country that even he does not remember the name of, yes it has been THAT long. While he himself was of the lowest caste, running food and drink back and forth for his masters or fetching their weapons, he knew that there was more to life. Many times he would try escaping, only to be caught and dragged back to his home to be beaten until he would cry himself to sleep. Yet, he kept trying, learning and getting better each time.

Then, one day, when he and his master were traveling far out in the hills, Randolph broke free of his master and ran for it. Despite his owner giving chase and angrily shouting about how he was going to beat the boy once he’d caught up, Randolph ran on. Eventually taking shelter within a cave, Randolph hid, hoping that the man would pass the cave by. Eventually he backed up right into an enormous rock, but as he touched it to move around it, further into the cave, it moved. Falling backwards, he landed behind a rock right as his master entered the cave. Suddenly the rock moved, an enormous dragon broke free, the cave being pushed around and away. With a start, the man screamed, fell and ran off.

Stepping free, Randolph looked around, doing his best to remain hidden behind the rock that he’d fallen behind. The dragon seemed to scratch its head a few times, stretch and then flex its wings, beating them a few times. It’s scales gleamed in the light of the sun, lighting the land around it in a ruby glow, aflame with the shining light of gold.

The dragon questioned him and Randolph explained as best he could. Feeling bad for the boy, the dragon named Kaiser, gave to Randolph and incredible power. This power would allow Randolph to live in areas that even the dragons were able to, where he was then able to go with Kaiser to a paradise hidden within a volcano. Once there Randolph found that he was able to exist easily within the extreme temperatures of the volcano. As he got older his skin began to grow hard and eventually became quite scale-like, while at the same time, his strength increased exponentially.
Over time he would make himself out to be a mighty warrior that traveled around the world defeating monster after monster. As he did, he took many wives and had many different children. All of his children had the same gift as himself, all were incredibly powerful and able to withstand a great deal of punishment. He gathered his many children and slowly, they all built a thriving community upon the paradise within the volcano. Thus the village of Drakkra was born with Randolph as its chieftain.

Culture:
The Kaiser clan of the Drakkra are both incredibly complex and extremely simple. Those in the Kaiser clan tend to value physical strength over magical might, viewing magic as less than might and more often are seen wielding axes or greatswords to crush enemies. While they don’t tend to disregard those that use magic, they are treated as less important. Practically all training is done with focus on the use of blades and muscle over that of magic and those Kaiser Drakkra that are more talented with magic tend to be made into shamans or priests. With their focus on martial prowess, this makes one of the most respected jobs blacksmiths and guards.

As far as a military is concerned, the Kaiser Drakkra clan do not have a standing military, possessing a militia instead that is activated whenever the town is in trouble. It is not uncommon for a single Kaiser Drakkra home to have from two to four weapons, depending on how many live there. While they are not forbidden from leaving their volcanic sanctuary, very few Kaiser Drakkra desire to leave as the lives that they have are quite satisfying. Some of them do occasionally go down into the normal world to see what it’s like, but almost all of them say that they prefer the way that their society is.

The Kaiser Drakkra tend to view the different races with very mixed feelings. On the whole, they tend to feel the most pity for humans who are so much like them, but do not have drakkras’ long life spans, as well as the scales and stronger claws or strength. They view the elves with a mixture of curiosity and annoyance, partially because the elves live nearly as long as they do and annoyance at their haughty attitudes. Most Kaiser Drakkra tend to like dwarves as they tend to be able to drink as much and party as heavily as the dwarves themselves, though the Kaiser Drakkra find the dwarven desire for gold to be a bit worrying, and even a bit annoying. Changelings are relatively unknown to them as are the de Odonde, and the beast people often feel quite like kin for the Kaiser clan due to how often the beastkin revel in life.

History of the Emperos:

Several dragons heavily interfered in the lives of humans, over the history of Shinma, though none more so than the self-proclaimed Empress dragon. She journeyed to the far eastern lands and took a beautiful human form once there. It didn’t take long for the emperor of the land to notice her and try his hardest to court her. Within a short amount of time, this draconic consort became the empress for the land and began spreading the teachings of the dragons, including the understanding that magic is not evil but is a tool to be used like any normal human tools.

The emperor of the land took her lessons to heart and so, instead of shunning, fearing or even outlawing magic, it instead embraced it. In a time when the other countries of the world made sure that those that practiced magic were discriminated against, imprisoned or even marked like animals, the East gave them the ability to practice as they pleased. Many of them were allowed to even work for the emperor. Though this is something that would cause a significant strain with many of the western countries, the eastern land kept this up regardless.

After many years, the Empress dragon would be blessed with three children: Xuo’ten, Xuo’gi, and Xa’bor. All of her children were not only strong spiritually but blessed with the magical capabilities of their mother and the grace of their father. The beauty of Xuo’ten and Xuo’gi were held in awe by the people of the land, and the majesty of Xa’bor was favored by men and women over the kingdom. The three of them grew hearty and hale, becoming mighty warriors and sorcerers.

As they grew and began to have children of their own, the three of them began to build a paradise of their own that they might protect their future. Xuo’ten and Xuo’gi, both of whom were mystically powerful, created the Etherium Mysticana, the ruling body of the paradise that they’d created. The Mysticana was formed as a matriarchy, with the women controlling the majority of the society that they had created while the men, led by Xa’bor became the warriors of their paradise.

Xuo’ten, with her magnificent coat of golden scales, became the leader of their order and master of magic, Xuo’gi became the spiritual leader, with her scales of emerald. Xa’bor, possessing a majestic ruby mantle, took charge of the warriors, training graceful combatants to strike down all adversaries. The warriors of the Emperos Drakkra are nearly as strong as those of the Kaiser Drakkra, though they prefer grace and speed to raw power.

Culture:
Unlike the Kaiser Drakkra, the Emperos Drakkra favor magic, specifically that of illusions and water, over strength and steel. For women within the Emperos Drakkra they are given either high positions of power, ranks of prestige or even the most dangerous missions. The men of the Emperos Drakkra are given lower ranks, less important ranks and few missions of any importance. While they’re not discriminated against, men tend to be seen as second class citizens and less powerful. They are beings to be protected as far as the Emperos Drakkra are concerned.

The Emperos Drakkra tend to be a bit less about the outside world than the Kaiser Drakkra, tending to stay in their little world for as long as they can. On the off times that they require venturing to the outside world, they remain in it for as shortly as they can manage and will return as soon as they can, or as soon as their mission is complete. There’s an odd pull for them to return no matter how far away they go. They tend to be much more civil when feasting than the Kaiser drakkra, valuing etiquette and manners over having a good time.

~::Racial-Abilities::~

Racial Qualities:
As dragons of Shinma are diverse so too are the Drakkra. Some can be born with digitigrade legs or look partial human from whence they were mixed into. Their skin or scales can be various shades of colors depending on the dragon parent and though they are born with wings, they can only glide as their wings are not large or strong enough to allow them to fly. The rarest having feathery wings from the Holy Dragons, rarely are there one born of such degree. Drakkra are extremely intelligent and can learn languages quickly, so they may know Common or Elvish as well, depending on where they spend most of their time. When a Drakkra is created they are live birthed some are born without wings or tail others waiting till maturity to hit to sprout the wings from their back.

[Description]: The Kaiser clan of Drakkra are a semi-draconic race more related to humanoids than dragons, but are still possessed of wings which they can use to fly and also allow them to move around quicker. Unlike the Scalekin, the Kaiser Drakkra are only capable of utilizing one element of breath in order to damage enemies. With the draconic ancestry that they have, the Kaiser clan also have enhanced strength and resilience and a bit more wisdom than others. Finally, they also have incredibly sharp claws that they can use rip through the natural armor of enemies.

Physical Description: All gemini take on a humanoid appearance, and are varied as the humans whose forms they share. They can be of very different heights, sizes, shapes and even colors. Most often they tend to be about the same size as a normal human, averaging about 5’8”. There are several different physiological differences between the Gemini people and normal humans. One of the biggest of these differences is that, while Gemini bleed like all other sapient creatures, their heart is a gemstone. They are extremely difficult to kill, as the only way to completely kill one is to remove or destroy their hearts. Otherwise, the Gemini will fall into a comatose state until they regenerate their wounds. This can take months or even years, but depends on each Gemini. The next and biggest differences between Gemini and normal humans is that Gemini always have one part of their body that seems to glow with their gem. Hair, eyes, skin, some part of them will always shine as though it was made of a jewel. Otherwise, gemini have the same lifespan as humans.

Personality: Ever since the discovery that the cores of gemini were useful in alchemical creations and magical weapons. Unfortunately, due to this continuous hunting of their kind, many gemini have become quite paranoid and disdainful of other sapient creatures, especially humans. Rare as it is for them to be discovered, especially now, gemini can often be discovered by how much they constantly look around. The only times that they tend to relax is if they find someone that can truly earn their trust.

Land: Unfortunately the gemini no longer have their own empire. While it was once a burgeoning and thriving utopia for their kind, the hunting of their people quickly broke the mighty capital and thus the rest of their land. The gemini that survive have done so by roaming the lands as nomads, whether in pairs or on their own.

Social Structure: While all gemini have been living their life on the run ever since the devastation of their homeland, the gemini, as a general rule have one main rule that some follow and some do not. This rule was that any of their kind must be accompanied by another, these two become the Warrior and the Sentinel, both of which have their own special role. The Warrior, a wall of physical might, is a powerful physical combatant; on the other hand the Sentinel is an adept wielder of magical ability and possesses the power to heal wounds at the cost of their own life force.

Now, while this is the most practiced and well known aspect of the Gemini, it is entirely possible for one of their kind to eschew a companion and flout the rule entirely. Such Gemini become vagrants and, while not bound by physical or magical might, Vagrants suffer in an entirely different way. Gemini are social creatures and, as such, do not take well to being on their own for extended periods of time. These such Gemini are much more prone to mental breakdowns as well as terrible paranoia usually spending longer periods of time alone.

Homeland: While the Gemini, once upon a time, had a kingdom of their own, Lumenras, due to the constant hunting ot their kind the land was required to be dissolved and was subsequently divided amongst Arania and Gisildaigon. Now what few Gemini there are travel the world, either trying to find their own way or to fix what was done to their kind.

History

E’yruun, god of mineral and craft, one of the greater gods of the world of Shinma, was a mighty god with skin of bronze, hair from gold and eyes of ruby, he was an imposing sight. Wherever he walked, the land was blessed with gems and ore. Along with his older brother, Memnos, he was present when the rebellious angel, Ramfiaus, took the chalice of creation, perverted it to the chalice of madness and was cast out. The rage that he felt that day brought iron, bronze and coal to the surface which would serve the races of man in the generations to come.

As the races of men began to populate the land of Shinma, his rage lessened, somewhat and he began to contact the early people, walking amongst them and teaching them. The elves resisted his lessons, feeling that such action damaged the planet upon which they stood. The humans took to his teachings quite well and slowly began to make weapons and armor, and the dwarves took to his lessons very well, becoming master craftsmen and smiths. Yet, to him, it was not enough; the very existence of the mortals angered him. How could Ramfiaus, a fallen angel, accomplish what he and his brethren could not? The anger festered within him, until one day he decided he’d do the impossible and do what Ramfiaus had. The only problem was how. He wracked his brain for days until, finally, he realized how to do it.

The day was dark as he worked in his forge, forming a body much like a human from clay, for hair he used gold, like his own and then for eyes he placed jasper, but then came the heart. He didn’t know what to use as a heart; that was the most important part of the person after all. Finally he decided that he would use the most precious thing that he could: gems; these stones, recepticles of magic could surely work for a heart for his precious creation. When he placed the gem into the creature and forced magic into the gem, breathing life into it. After a few minutes, the very first of the Gemini stumbled into life, dropping to its knees. The clay had formed into flesh, their hair flowed, their eyes looked back and forth and then they asked who he was.

The pride that welled up within his breast at that question would’ve shaken even Memnos. Yet, E’yruun was quick to answer the question, telling his name as E’yruun and that he’d created the man. When the man asked what its own name was, E’yruun gave the man a name and, after a few minutes, state that the man was a Gemini, to prevent further questions. He had strength physical and magical and was an all new creature.

Little by little, E’yruun made many more of the Gemini until there were several thousand and led them to a fertile land between what would become Gisildaigon and Arania. Here, the mighty Gemini that was Loumes would found the land of Lumensra. The Great War had ended not too long ago and so the place began to grow. Being the lord of the forge, he taught them all of his craft, and they were much like humans, picking it up quickly but not being exceptionally amazing. While disappointing, E’yruun didn’t let it bother him and allowed them to become the powerful people that they did.

Their continuous usage of magical prowess did not go unnoticed and the elves began to become concerned with their continuous usage. The two began to parley constantly but despite the elves requests, the Gemini continued to utilize their magical powers. Then it happened: an elf killed a Gemini soldier during an argument and, in that moment, the elf discovered the jewel-like heart of the Gemini. Discovering that it was an incredibly powerful magical reliquary, the elf returned to his homeland and explained about the incredibly power within the gem. The news of the incredibly powerful relic, spread like wildfire.

Shortly thereafter, the humans of Arania, Gisildaigon and even Wynaria began to launch attacks against the Lumensra kingdom. The Gemini, with all their strength, launched counter attacks in what their people would come to know as the Dulling War. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a war in the traditional sense; the “Dulling War” was called such because humans, elves and dwarves in smaller numbers invaded Lumensra and killed hundreds of thousands of Gemini. The myriad of Gemini were killed specifically for their bejeweled hearts. While many that were captured were put to death for their crimes, it didn’t stop thousands of raiding parties from infiltrating and killing Gemini. At the height of the Dulling War, it is estimated that thousands of gemini were killed during a single night.

Eventually the Radiant, the most beautiful gem and leader of their people, was killed for their gem. The outrage, shock and fear spread through the rest of the kingdom like wildfire and many gems began to run from their homes. Tens of thousands of people began to run from their homes, Sentinels taking their Warriors, and loners fleeing for their lives. Those that ran would eventually try and settle in other kingdoms and would eventually be found and killed for their gems. The Dulling War ended a kingdom that had been around for nearly three hundred years, but the death of one gemini had doomed nearly the entirety of the kingdom in only a few years.

Thus the gemini that wander the world nowadays are mostly the same ones that had been around during the Dulling War. It is currently estimated that there are only about ten thousand gemini in the world, some travelling in pairs and others travelling on their own.

Gemini Soul Gem: Life Stone
Rp: While a Gemini has a physical, interactive body, the true housing of soul is the gem at the center of their being. The entire body could be erased from existence and the Gemini would still be alive, dormant within the glowing alien gem. Taking any kind of severe, life-threatening harm forces the Gemini to withdraw into their core and rebuild over time. If they stay in this state for long enough, the energy gathered within their soul expands and reforms their body almost instantaneously. This leftover core, even if it sounds powerful, is fragile to external harm while under a comatose state and easily exploited. A single well-placed blow on the grain-lines of the gem will shatter it like any other crystal, forever ending the Gemini’s life like any other mortal. It is best for a Gemini to have a group of trusted friends around them if they ever leave their homeland or become exiles, less they fall prey to collectors, hunters, or simple vagabonds if they ever enter this state.

[Description]: The center of being for a Gemini is the large gem in the center of their body. It doesn’t just contain their central being and soul, but also houses an intricate network of crystalline mana ducts that flow magic through the body while intact. As an emergency, the Gemini can instantly detonate this mana to flow out of the crystal all at once, speeding up the process of bodily reformation should it take a fatal blow. For anyone who has never fought a Gemini before, this could come as a shock as the body of the being falls to pieces from a typical final blow, only for the gem to pulse with power, the body reform instantly, and the Gemini shooting off into the distance with the leftover mana as an immediate escape. The problem lies within people who know of this race’s unique biology. A smart foe who specifically hunts these creatures can stop the escape and simply grab them Gemini’s core after the body is erased and gain that mana burst for themselves with a powerful crushing hand. The healing burst of energy would revitalize the hunter and spell the end of the Gemini in a horrible unwilling sacrifice.
